Product Description

The Mission 778CDT is a CD transport from the 778 series, the modern successor to Mission’s classic 778 components. Its compact half-width format is a perfect match for the 778X integrated amplifier and the 778S streamer, but the 778CDT is just as much an ideal source for any DAC or amplifier with digital inputs.

With no built-in DAC, the 778CDT focuses entirely on one task: reading the disc as accurately as possible. To do so, Mission uses a custom-engineered CD mechanism with its own servo control, a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) as master clock, and separate power supplies for the transport, laser, decoder and clock, fed by a toroidal transformer.

The digital signal is sent to your DAC via the coaxial or optical output. The rear USB port also lets you play music files from a USB stick or drive. The dimmable OLED display shows CD text, and the supplied remote also controls the other components in the 778 series.
