The Hattor Takman Audio Mini Passive-Active Pre offers unprecedented value for your investment. It differs from The Big Ultimate passive preamplifier in that it has a stereo attenuator, unlike the dual mono attenuators of The Big Ultimate. Otherwise, they share the same high-quality components, and the same attention to detail has been paid.

This unit is available as a standard passive preamplifier or with a high-performance OPAMP buffer. The buffer is virtually inaudible in this setup and enables the Mini to easily drive very complex loads. So, if you plan to drive multiple transistor amplifiers, the active version of the preamplifier will prevent the common problem of a modest dynamic range and poor frequency response. Equipped with the active feature, you can easily switch between active and passive with a remote control and choose from gain levels of 3, 6, or 9 dB.
