The Wharfedale Diamond 12.4i is the largest floorstanding model in the updated Diamond 12 series and the successor to the highly acclaimed Diamond 12.4. This speaker is made for larger rooms: it delivers a big, spacious soundstage with a solid foundation, while the midrange and treble stay natural and relaxed. Ideal for long listening sessions, and just as much at home in a home cinema setup.
Bass and midrange are handled by two 150 mm Klarity drivers, the treble by a 25 mm textile dome tweeter. Thanks to the 2.5-way layout, both drivers work together in the bass, while one of them also covers the midrange. The result is deep, controlled bass without a congested midrange.
The cabinet uses multi-layer sandwich construction with internal bracing and damping to reduce resonances. The tuned rear bass reflex port delivers tight, deep bass that stays stable at higher volumes. With a sensitivity of 89 dB and an impedance of 8 ohms, the Diamond 12.4i is an easy load for most amplifiers.
