Product Description

The Thiel SCS4T is the floorstanding version of the well-known SCS4 monitor and was designed with a strong focus on timing, phase behaviour and highly accurate stereo reproduction. The speaker uses a single 6.5-inch aluminium driver with a centrally mounted 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter.

Thanks to this coaxial arrangement, the high and low frequencies originate from virtually the same point. Combined with Thiel’s first-order crossover, this results in an exceptionally coherent and precise soundstage, with excellent placement of voices and instruments and a high level of spatial information.

The cabinet is constructed from thick MDF and features a heavy aluminium front baffle. Interestingly, the lower section of the floorstanding enclosure essentially acts as an integrated stand; the acoustic volume is comparable to that of the smaller SCS4 monitor. This allows the SCS4T to combine the character of a high-quality monitor speaker with the stability and ideal listening height of a floorstanding design.

This pair is supplied with the original Thiel spikes, which work together with the aluminium outriggers to provide stable positioning and proper decoupling of the loudspeakers.
