The Canton Reference 5 is a high-quality 3-way floorstanding speaker from Canton’s current Reference generation. With its Black Ceramic Tungsten drivers, aluminium-ceramic tweeter, high-quality WBT terminals and extensive options for matching to your listening room, the Reference 5 ranks among the serious high-end speakers from the German manufacturer.
The Reference 5 is available in Black Piano, White Satin and Walnut. The speakers are carefully manufactured in Germany.

The Canton Reference 5 combines a relatively elegant size with the technology of Canton’s high-quality Reference series. The speaker uses two 174 mm Black Ceramic Tungsten woofers, a 174 mm Black Ceramic Tungsten midrange driver and a 25 mm aluminium-ceramic tweeter.
The BCT (Black Ceramic Tungsten) diaphragms combine high stiffness with low weight. Together with Canton’s latest Wave Surround technology, the drivers are designed for fast and controlled movement, even at higher volumes. The result is powerful and accurate bass, an open midrange and plenty of detail.
The 25 mm tweeter uses an aluminium-ceramic diaphragm and extends up to 40 kHz. Thanks to the carefully tuned 3-way design with crossover frequencies of 170 and 3,000 Hz, the result is a coherent and spacious soundstage.
At the rear is a high-quality WBT terminal, suitable for both bi-wiring and bi-amping. The Reference 5 also features Canton’s Room Compensation, which lets you adjust the midrange and treble in 1.5 dB steps, so the speakers can be matched to the acoustics of your listening room and your personal preference.
The beautifully curved multi-layer cabinet is not only a key part of the design, but also contributes to a solid, low-resonance construction. Weighing no less than 36 kg per speaker, the Reference 5 is exceptionally well built despite its relatively modest dimensions.
