Product Description

The Pioneer CT-F950 was introduced around 1980 and is one of the more luxurious cassette decks from Pioneer’s classic era. The deck uses a 3-head system, allowing direct monitoring of the actual signal being recorded onto the cassette.

The transport mechanism is driven by two motors and features electronically controlled soft-touch transport functions. The distinctive Fluoroscan level meters and electronic tape counter give the CT-F950 its characteristic appearance and make it a beautiful match with other Pioneer Blue Line components.

The CT-F950 supports various tape types, including Normal, CrO₂, FeCr and Metal, and features Dolby B noise reduction. The Bias Fine Adjust function allows the recording settings to be fine-tuned to suit the cassette being used. Additional features include Memory Stop/Play, Repeat and tape monitoring.

This particular unit has been refurbished. Especially with a cassette deck that is now more than 45 years old, a serviced example is highly desirable, as the mechanical transport and various moving parts play an important role in overall performance.
